Perfection continues its tradition
of leadership with the introduction of the industry’s
first complete line of gas distribution products
molded from PE100/Bimodal PE3408 resin. As with
most of our innovations, the move to PE100/Bimodal
PE3408 resin answers a need expressed by many
of our utility partners.
PE100 is an ISO classification for gas-grade polyethylene
resin created through a bimodal (dual reactor)
process. ASTM D2513 currently classifies PE100
as PE3408, although a new classification is expected.
While PE100/Bimodal PE3408 resin shares many of
the same fundamental properties as PE2406 and
PE3408 resins, it does offer several significant
performance enhancements. PE100/Bimodal PE3408
provides excellent resistance to Rapid Crack Propagation
(RCP), a catastrophic type failure, and Slow Crack
Growth (SCG). In addition, PE100 has a proven
track record having been used successfully around
the world for more than 20 years.
