NEW LARGE DIAMETER MECHANICAL COUPLING FOR JOINING PE TO PVC GAS MAINS

Madison, OH – October 6, 2003

Perfection Corporation introduces its latest addition to their mechanical coupling line, the PE (polyethylene) to PVC (polyvinyl chloride), large diameter mechanical coupling. This new large coupling is designed for joining PE gas mains to PVC gas mains with a gas-tight connection, and is available in 2" and 4" sizes.

Perfection Large Diameter Mechanical Couplings feature a center body section constructed of ASTM D-2513/ISO 4437 gas grade polyethylene (3408). The couplings feature non-corrosive components that eliminate the need for protective coatings and cathodic protection. The design of the coupling ensures a safe connection – the couplings are built to withstand the pressure of the PE piping or tubing installed. One person can complete the installation with no special equipment and the size of excavation sites can be significantly reduced. Perfection large diameter couplings meet or exceed the requirements of US DOT CFR Title 49, Part 192.283 (b) and ASTM D-2513 category 1.

Perfection mechanical couplings have long been accepted as a standard in the natural gas industry for simplification of service line installations and saving money. Over 30 million Perfection Permasert couplings have been installed in natural gas systems. The Permasert's unique design characteristics result in dependable, leak-proof performance, even with out-of round or misaligned pipes ends.

Perfection Corporation manufactures and markets a complete line of distribution products for the natural gas, propane and potable water markets including couplings, risers, transitions, valves and tapping tees, as well as prefabricated meter sets and meter set components. The company also produces fabricated products for original equipment manufacturers in various markets, including corrosion-resistant water heater components, appliance components, and specialty fabricated steel pipe and plastic tubing. Perfection also operates a subsidiary company, a custom injection molder of
plastics.
