Perfection a Whirlpool Corporation top supplier
Madison, OH - June 10, 2006 - Whirlpool Corporation
(NYSE:WHR) has named Perfection Corporation a top supplier
for 2005. Only two percent of Whirlpool’s North
American suppliers received the award.
A subsidiary of American Meter Company,
an Elster Group company, Perfection is the world’s
leading manufacturer of non-metallic mechanical joining
products for natural gas and propane gas distribution
systems. Perfection supplies steel components used in
Whirlpool’s gas dryers.
Whirlpool’s Global Procurement
Organization partners with suppliers around the world
to obtain high quality, cost-effective materials and
components. Of the approximately 700 U.S. Suppliers
Whirlpool worked with in 2005, Perfection was one of
only 17 recognized for outstanding performance.
"This year, Perfection was one
of only 17 U.S. suppliers who consistently met our requirements
in quality, productivity, engineering, design, availability
and, increasingly, innovation," Whirlpool Vice
President for North American Procurement Steve Rush
said.
It is the second time in four years
Perfection has earned the prestigious award.
" The suppliers we partner with
are vital in helping us to maintain our status as the
world’s leading home appliance manufacturer,"
Rush said.
Perfection recently received the
Whirlpool Corporation Supplier Performance Award at
a banquet held in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Mike Schupska,
Perfection’s appliance products sales manager;
and Victor Rebenock, manager of two Perfection plants,
attended the banquet to accept the award.
According to Schupska, Perfection’s
relationship with Whirlpool extends back 40 years. The
two companies struck a deal allowing Perfection to manufacture
a component Whirlpool previously made at their Marion,
Ohio facility. The deal benefited both companies and
their relationship grew stronger through the years.
Schupska said the employees who help make Perfection
a top supplier to Whirlpool are widespread throughout
the company and include the manufacturing, engineering
and customer service departments.
"Sometimes we’re in daily
contact with the planning people down in Marion. Immediate
reaction is our first tool. We make additional parts,
as they need them. We pay attention to each and every
aspect of their needs," Schupska said.
"To achieve the degree of customer
loyalty that we are aiming for, Whirlpool depends not
only on the dedication of our more than 80,000 employees
worldwide, but also on the quality and dependability
of our suppliers," Whirlpool Chairman and CEO Jeff
M. Fettig said.
With headquarters in Madison, Ohio,
Perfection offers a complete line of gas distribution
products allowing installers to make fast, easy and
safe connections from main-to-meter and from tank-to-house.
Perfection also produces water distribution products
for polyethylene water piping; and fabricated steel
pipe and plastic tubing products for the water heater,
plumbing/HVAC and appliance industries. In addition
to its Madison headquarters, Perfection operates plants
in Geneva and Harpersfield, Ohio; as well as a subsidiary
plastic molding operation, H&H Engineered Molded
Products, located in Solon, Ohio.
